"Mother's Letter to Her Daughter"

When you were small when I held you close to me, I would give to you measures of my love to see. You so small could hardly guess That I could never love you less Then all the sand thats by the sea. More than all the leaves upon a tree. More than all the stars that you could see. God only knows the love thats there in me. You're grown now and I'm still trying, But till you hold your own babes crying will you know the feeling deep within. Through heartache and pain if nerves worn thin That this mother's love for her young daughter could never, ever be altered. When you were young, I set you free, To find for yourself and come to see That true love stands the test of time. Though we were apart, you were forever mine. Always remember until the end Your mother loved you first, my friend.

"Mother's Letter to Her Son"

When you were small when I held you close to me, I would give to you measures of my love to see. You so small could hardly guess That I could never love you less Then all the sand thats by the sea. More than all the leaves upon a tree. More than all the stars that you could see. God only knows the love thats there in me. You're grown now and I'm still trying, But when you hold your own babes crying you waill know the feeling deep within. Through heartache and pain of nerves worn thin That this mother's love for her young son could never, ever be undone. When you were young, I set you free, To find for yourself and come to see That true love stands the test of time. Though we were apart, you were forever mine. Always remember until the end Your mother loved you first, my friend.
